Independence Day in Mexico and United States

Clearly, one of the biggest events for the whole nation is the day they gained independence from their conquerors. It's funny how in every country there are different ways to commemorate their independence day. This article will talk about the major events that occur in Mexico and the United States to celebrate this important date. The question would be: Does such customs both countries?

To give answer to the above question, the following elements of the two countries will be discussed: Date of celebration, activities, performed traditional holiday meals and importance of the celebration. The importance of this article is to know more deeply, customs and traditions of these two countries and so understand the diversity of holidays around the world.

The days when Independence is commemorated in Mexico and the United States are very different. In Mexico the official date of Independence is on September 16, 1810, while in the United States it’s on July 4, 1776. The Mexicans make their conclusion based on the famous "Grito de Dolores" while Americans of their Celebrity separation from the British Empire. In short the United States is older than Mexico on issues of independence.


On the side of Mexico, activities began on September 15 at night with the famous "Grito de Dolores" during the night of 15 September and 16 September all; Mexicans participate in fairs with rides, the fireworks are characteristic of the day. Of course, you cannot miss the music of the famous mariachis and joyful notes. Finally, traditional dances, school parades and display of flags is very common. Mexicans are considered the most nationalistic people of all Latin America.

Independence Day is a national holiday marked by patriotic displays in the United States. Many politicians use this day to appear at a public event and commend the inheritance. The pass outdoor activities mostly; families make picnics, others use to visit their distant relatives. During the day there are parades and beautiful fireworks in parks or places like Disney. The blue, red and white are common on July 4. Globally, the fireworks in the United States are known as the most popular.


Moreover, in Mexico traditional foods are quesadillas, tacos, arepas and guacamole; of course, all meals must be quite spicy chili. Mexican food is spicier than American food. In the United States families gather for a barbecue and there is always main dishes like burgers, chicken wings, beans with pork, coleslaw (typical salad United States), popcorn and ice cream. In short, very different meals.


How important is this date for both countries?


For both countries it means the most important holiday; even though from the different customs and traditions (starting for date) for both countries is the holiday with more value.

In conclusion, very different countries; totally different customs, but a festival of great importance for citizens.


Reflection on the realization of the article: This was a very interesting article mainly by the degree of research that had to be used for the completion of written composition. A level corrections by classmates and teacher, were few in general; The main changes occurred in the area of the location of punctuation. It was an important and valuable work.
